Experimental Particle Physics - Department - F9

Research at the department is devoted to experimental studies of elementary particles, the ultimate building blocks of matter, and the interactions between them, as well as to the development of advanced particle detectors and their applications, from particle physics to medicine. Modern particle physics experiments are so demanding that they are carried out by large international collaborations at major research centres. Our researchers take part in experiments at CERN near Geneva, at KEK in Tsukuba and at the Pierre Auger Observatory in Argentina.
